Using Backup sets

Backup sets allow you to save different sets of files for backup. You could have one set for large backups of your whole Home folder every week and other sets for a few small files that change every day. You can have any number of backup sets for different purposes. Each sets has its own list of backup files added to the main window and whatever unique preferences you choose in the preferences panel. You can select more than one set. press the backup button, and backuplist+ will process them one at a time until done

 

To create a backup set:

  1. Go to File menu > "Create a new set" or click the "+" button at the bottom corner of the "Backup set" list.
  2. Type a new name. Set names should be different and tell you what they contain and/or the destination.
  3. Your new set appears in the "Backup set" list window
  4. Then you can add files/folders the usual way to the main list window for this new backup set .

To make a duplicate set

  1. Go to File menu >"Duplicate current set"
  2. A new set with the same settings as the previous set will be created in the "Backup set" list.
  3. You can now edit the duplicate set's settings.

To remove a set

  1. Go to File menu > "Remove current set" or just select the item in the list and press the delete key on your keyboard.
  2. The set will be removed from the "Backup set" list.

To change the name of a set

  1. Change the name of the set by editing it directly in the list window.
